Fall In Love With Your Autumn Inspired Home

Bye summer & welcome autumn – the hot season was great but we’re ready to wind down and prepare for the colder months of the year. Now is the perfect time to transform your home into a cosy autumn-inspired space where you can relax after the busy summer. I’m sure our five autumn-inspired ideas will leave a smile on your face!

1. Cushions, candles, flowers

It’s time to refresh your décor: Rustic natural colours like yellow, orange and gold are good choices; not too overwhelming, yet they bring fresh energy into your home. You could also add some scented candles for a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

2. Time to get out the quilt

The nights are getting colder, so you’ll soon be reaching for a warmer quilt or doona. If these have been stored away all summer, you might want to wash and air them to make sure they’re fresh and clean when you need them.

3. Install a fire pit

Fire pits are more & more becoming an integral part of Australian outdoor areas and they’re a great addition allowing you to use your outdoor area all year round. There are so many styles to choose from: concrete, cast iron, steel and stone which use wood or gas. Gas fire pits are growing in popularity as you don’t need the hassle of sourcing and storing firewood, and gas burns ‘cleaner’.

4. Create a reading nook

When it gets colder, it’s natural to want to spend more time inside. A reading nook is a perfect space to relax while reading a book or watching a movie. Corners and alcoves with the addition of some foam padding, cushions and soft lighting make perfect reading nooks.

5. Keep your garden vibrant

Make sure your plants and lawns have enough energy through the winter by fertilising them. Autumn is also the best time to plant trees and spring-flowering bulbs such as crocus, anemone, tulips, and freesia.
