Is your hot water too hot?

It can take as little as 1 second to receive third-degree burns if exposed to hot water between 65 and 80 degrees Celsius. Installing a tempering valve in your hot water system ensures that your output is set to the right temperature and can prevent someone at your house from being scalded by the hot water.

Tempering Valves are compulsory in Queensland when you install a new hot water system or carry out renovations. There is a range of different tempering valves depending on your plumbing application – find out more about tempering valves.
