During a typical Queensland summer, your air conditioner works hard to keep your family cool. If not properly maintained, its lifespan will be drastically reduced. Let Av show you how to clean your air conditioner to keep it working better for longer.

Lee: So Av this house's air conditioner seems to be running really poorly. Should they replace it at all?

Av: Well not necessarily, there are a few simple steps that we can look at to help you prolong the life of your air conditioner.

Lee: All righty, so let's go take a look. Okay, so Av this a/c looks like it's seen better days.

Av: Yes it has Lee but there are a few things that we can actually look at maintaining on a regular basis ourselves. These are:

• The indoor air filters so you can wash these on a regular basis.
• Then you've got your indoor evaporator coil and fan barrel (this will get caked up with mould after a little while if it's not maintained by a professional on a regular basis).
• Let's not forget about the outdoor unit though, this is also equally as important. So we just need to make sure that we don't allow the vegetation to go through and we need to remove the weeds and make sure that the outdoor heat exchange coils are nice and clean. That way your unit will run more effectively and energy efficient for you in the long run

Lee: So Av these are all simple steps that I actually can do myself.
