The People of Fallon Solutions: Wayne - video transcript

What do you like to do on a Friday afternoon after work?

Friday long weekend, definitely go for a walk with my dog.

How long have you been at Fallon Solutions?

I've been at Fallon for about three months now, so I'm fairly new. Still getting a hang of everything but definitely growing into the role. Enjoying it a lot. I'm enjoying the people and the work atmosphere.

What was your path to working in Warehouse & Logistics at Fallon?

I was a little a delivery driver up in Cairns. So I worked up in Cairns for about two years doing deliveries on and off. Didn't really enjoy it as much but as I've come down here definitely enjoyed this.

What skills have you learnt in your role?

Skills that I've learned, definitely time management, communication, that's something I've got to do every day, I've got to speak with people, customers, techs etc. So there's a lot to do and there's a lot to keep on top of it.

What's the most challenging part of your role?

The most challenging part to my role is definitely (the) amount of duties that I've got to keep on top of it all the things coming in and out and to keep on top of it all and overcome it. I've got great support here, staff processes, procedures, there's a lot of help here.

What is a typical day at work for you?

Well, I've got to organise all the deliveries going out to our technicians because we've got thousands of parts in the warehouse and our technicians need all sorts of different parts all throughout the day. Well, we've got probably over 100 vans out at any given time all throughout Brisbane.

Do you deliver parts to technicians on-site?

So in order to get a tech a part that he needs we can do one of two things. We can actually give them a purchase order and he'll go straight to the supplier, pick up what he needs. Or we can actually do a delivery for him and get that part out to him as soon as we can.

How long does it take to deliver a part?

Normally we try to work within 45 mins to an hour obviously depending on where the tech is, where we are, and where the part is to be picked up from.

What's the most rewarding part of your role?

The most rewarding part of working for Fallon's would probably be getting to work with the people. I definitely enjoy working with the people here and the atmosphere. It is hard work at times it gets challenging but it's all part of it really.
